Business and Training Department

The Business and Training Department of Kibbutz El-Shammah encourages small business development and provides skill training. It also provides affordable sales to the community.

Included

• The Thrift Shop - Second hand clothing is prepared for sale to the community at the end of every month.
• Corner Shop - A convenience store at affordable prices.
• Laundry - Workers are able to have their laundry washed at a minimal cost.
• Renovations - A small business developed to create jobs for skilled handymen.
• Sewing Room - Low cost alterations and designs.

Future Vision:

• To expand each area of business and to provide small business training to unskilled people.
• To generate an income for the Kibbutz.

Arts and Crafts (Business and Training Department)

The Arts and Crafts Department of Kibbutz El-Shammah aims to provide training in this field to unskilled people and to provide a platform for exposure and sales of local talent. The environment created is suitable for mentoring and counseling to members of the community.

Included

• Sewing Room - Training in sales in garment making and alterations.
• Arts and Crafts - Quilting, embroidery, candle making, and leatherwork.

Future Vision:

• Develop a market for tourism.
• Expand training facilities and increase the number of people who are trained.
• Develop a craft stall along the National Road.
