Children in need of care are not only in our streets, but also in their homes; the place where they should feel safe.
Children are being abused physically, emotionally, and sexually. They are exposed to cruel, wicked, abusive, and atrocious circumstances. Hunger and poverty are not only experienced physically; they are also hungry for love and acceptance.
Arise, cry out in the night, as the watches of the night begin; pour out your heart like water in the presence of the Lord. Lift up your hands to him for the lives of your children, who faint from hunger at the head of every street.

Kibbutz El-Shammah is already involved. We are helping children in need of care by:
A "Brick Project" is currently underway. The site for a house for homeless street kids is already established on the Kibbutz. Funding is already coming in. Nearly $4 000 has been received. Local business man are contributing bricks and building supples also. Kibbutz staff and former street kids are holding fund raising activities such as cook outs and rummage sales to raise funds for this house. Ground breaking was hold in late May 2001. Digging for the foundation is now complete. We have determined that 16 740 bricks will be needed to build a 3 500ft2 building. A total of $50 000 is needed. With that in mind, we are offering the opportunity to buy a brick for only $3. For every purchase of ten or more bricks, the contributor's name will be engraved on a plaque and placed in the home.
